Privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This policy explains what information K Effect LLC ("K Effect", "we", "us") collects through keffecttraining.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. K Effect runs two strength-training studios in Utah: Brickyard in Salt Lake City and Traverse Mountain in Lehi.

This policy covers this website and the texts and emails we send because of a request made on it. It doesn't cover what happens at the studio or in the services we use there, such as Mindbody for bookings, waivers and payments, or Google for reviews. Those have their own terms and privacy policies.

The short version

  • We collect the details you type into our forms so we can answer your request and help you get started.
  • Your details go to our customer-management system, where our team follows up with you. We don't sell or rent your personal information.
  • We only text you if you tick the box saying we may, and you can stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
  • We never share your mobile number, or your consent to receive texts, with anyone for their own marketing.
  • We use cookies to remember your studio and to understand which ads and links bring people to us. None of our own cookies hold your name, phone number or email address.

Information you give us

When you request a free class or a 6-week challenge consultation, we ask for:

  • your first and last name, mobile phone number and email address;
  • the studio you want to visit;
  • on the free-class form, a class you'd like to try, if you pick one from the schedule;
  • on the challenge form, your main goal and whether you can commit to three workouts a week;
  • who referred you, if anyone (optional);
  • whether you agree to receive text messages (one optional box that starts unticked).

With your request we also record when you sent it, which page you sent it from, the version of the text-message consent wording you saw, and how you found us (see "Information collected automatically").

At a studio's front desk, a team member may open the form for you on a studio device. You enter your own details and choose your own text-message preferences.

We don't ask for health information on this website. Any body-composition scan (such as an InBody scan) or health screening happens in person at the studio.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, we and the services we use collect some information automatically:

  • How you found us: the campaign details in the link you followed (such as utm_source or utm_campaign), ad click identifiers from Google or Meta, the website that referred you, and the first page you landed on. We keep this for your first visit and your latest visit.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. Our servers use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and limit spam. We use your IP address briefly to limit how many requests can be sent from one connection.
  • Cookies, described below.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our own cookies:

  • ke_ft: how you found us on your first visit (campaign details, click identifiers, referring site, landing page). Kept for 180 days.
  • ke_lt: the same details for your latest visit. Kept for 180 days.
  • ke_studio: the studio you chose, so the forms can pre-select it. Kept for 1 year.
  • _fbc: a Meta ad click identifier, set when you arrive from a Meta ad. Kept for 90 days.
  • ke_lf: a short-lived cookie that lets a form show its result if your browser doesn't run JavaScript. It holds a random code, not your details, and expires within minutes.
  • ke_conv: a single-use cookie that tells the thank-you page a request was just sent, so an ad conversion is counted once. It expires within minutes.
  • Sign-in cookies for our staff's administration area, set only for staff who sign in.

None of our own cookies contain your name, phone number or email address.

We use (or may turn on) Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tags. When they're on, they set their own cookies (such as _ga and _fbp) and Google and Meta collect information about your visit, including pages viewed and device information, and may combine it with information about your activity on other websites over time. We use them to count visits and requests and to measure and improve our advertising. Our analytics events carry only the studio, the offer and how the request was made, never your name, phone number or email address.

How we use your information

  • To answer your request: contact you, book your free class or consultation, and send confirmations and reminders.
  • To follow up about memberships and programs, by phone, email, or by text if you agreed to marketing texts.
  • To understand which pages, links and ads bring people to us, and to measure and improve our advertising.
  • To keep the site and our forms secure and free of spam.
  • To keep records of your text-message consent and to meet our legal obligations.

Text messages

If you tick the texting box on our form, we may text you about your request and your booking (such as confirmations and reminders), and follow up after your visit about K Effect memberships and programs.

If you don't tick it, our automated systems won't text you. Our team may call or email you instead. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or HELP for help. You can also tell us in any other reasonable way, such as by email or at the studio. Consent to texts is never a condition of buying anything. Our Terms of Use include the full text-message terms.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party. Information is shared only with the service providers that help us deliver our messages and run our business (for example, our customer-management and texting platform), and they may use it only to provide those services to us.

How we share information

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for compensation. We share it only as follows:

  • With service providers who work for us: our customer-management, texting and email platform (HighLevel, also called GoHighLevel), which is where your request is kept; our website host in the United States; our encrypted off-site backup storage (Backblaze); and our site-alert email service (Resend), which carries no request details.
  • With Google and Meta, for analytics and advertising measurement, as described in "Cookies and similar technologies" and "Advertising measurement" below.
  • When the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety or others', or as part of a sale, merger or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Mindbody: the class schedules on our site come from our weekly schedule or from Mindbody, our booking system. We don't send Mindbody anything about you from this website.

Advertising measurement

To measure whether our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads lead to requests, when you send a request on your own (not at a studio front desk or from a link our team sends you) our server tells Meta that a request was made. It sends:

  • a one-way scrambled (SHA-256 hashed) copy of your email address, never the address itself;
  • a random identifier for the request;
  • your IP address and browser information;
  • Meta's _fbp and _fbc cookies, if your browser has them;
  • the studio and the kind of request.

We never send Meta your phone number or your name. Meta uses this to match the request to an ad click and report results to us, under Meta's own terms and data policy.

Your choices

  • Texts: reply STOP to any text, or ask us in any other reasonable way.
  • Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We may still email you about a booking you asked for.
  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our forms still work without them, though we won't remember your studio.
  • Google Analytics: you can install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Ads: you can manage ad personalization in your Google account (adssettings.google.com) and in Meta's ad preferences.
  • Do Not Track: our site doesn't currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. The choices above still work.
  • Access, correction and deletion: email us at brickyard@keffecttraining.com to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. We'll verify the request comes from you and respond within a reasonable time. We may keep what the law requires, such as a record that you asked us not to text you.

How long we keep information

  • The website itself keeps a request only until our customer-management system accepts it, usually within seconds. If it can't be delivered, the site retries for up to 48 hours, and a request that still fails is deleted 30 days later.
  • Encrypted backups of the website's database may contain a request that was waiting at the time of a backup. Backups are deleted on a rolling schedule: daily copies after 30 days and monthly copies after 1 year.
  • In our customer-management system we keep your details for as long as we have a relationship with you, and afterwards as long as we need them for our business and legal records, including records of your text-message consent. Ask us to delete them at any time.
  • Our cookies last as listed above.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted backups, access limited to staff who need it, and spam and abuse controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children and teens

This website isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, email brickyard@keffecttraining.com and we'll delete it. Our members are 16 or older. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign the waiver at the studio before training.

California residents

If you live in California, you can review and ask us to correct the information you've given us by emailing brickyard@keffecttraining.com. This policy describes how we respond to Do Not Track signals and whether other parties may collect information about your online activities on our site (see "Cookies and similar technologies" and "Your choices").

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we'll tell you before it applies to that information.
